Tell us about yourself, here I will start!
Name is Misty Talen, I am recently married to my best friend and greatest support in sticking with my vision for Will of the Way. He's even put forth the funds I don't want to charge members to make sure my vision stays true. I couldn't ask for a better partner.
As I mentioned in the WotW intro post I have been studying for 20 years. Some solitary, some one on one teacher based, and some in a Coven. I have never been particular to rigid structure and just because something is holy to me doesn't mean I can't laugh about some of the absurdities of life.
My High Priestess, Melody out of Everett WA has seen fit to support my decision to start my own coven (Salamanders of the Southern Shores) and supports my efforts to teach. She has also recently finished writing her Rune book after 20 years of study and drafting. I am so proud of her.
My current coven sisters are all female and all have excessively busy lives with new homes on the horizon, children (2 and 4 footed), work and spouses. We all try to take time to not forget our paths in the busy mundane life of day to day.
My family descends from Scottish and Cherokee among other things and one of my siblings is currently studying with her Native American mentor and she is a great source of joy for me.
I have fur-babies of the cat and dog variety and I am a home maker. I'm sure some of the home-craft will bleed over to WotW because for me there is no separation. There is magic that goes into canning for example, and if your grandmother never canned and you couldn't taste the difference of store bought and real home prepared foods then you are missing a great deal and I urge you to at least hit a farmers market in your area.
To me, I believe in reincarnation. I believe the world is mysterious and magical and we have yet to scratch the surface of our potential as thinkers and our growth as humans. I also believe that in a universe this vast, we are not alone if there are other stars, other galaxies that science can point to, is it so hard to believe there are other worlds, planes of existence that we can't yet measure?
I also have a great fondness for tea and coffee, milk and cookies, and lasagna.
I do henna (very healing) and hope to be studying Reki VERY soon. I also love string... crochet, knit, sewing, needlepoint.
I am also ordained and I have a couple to be married very soon now that Washington has passed same sex marriage (huzzah!) and I am so proud to be a part of that with them.
More will come to mind later I'm sure, probably at 4AM when I shouldn't be on a computer.. and should be asleep!
