Last night I goofed up and did not hold my pot holder correctly getting cookies out of the oven. Needless to say I burned the heck out of my thumb. I did the usual, cool water, aloe. Also as usual, my burn laughed at my pitiful attempts to stop the pain. I recalled that I read once that raspberry leaf was good for burns. So I got some of my leaf out - let it steep a few min in lukewarm water. Took a bunch and put it into a gauze pad, then slapped that gauze pad full of wet raspberry leaf onto the burn and secured it with a bandaid. After a few of the normal twinges that burns usually give it calmed down to the point that I could even apply pressure to the burn w/out it hurting at all. Now you might say 'well then you weren't burned that bad' to which I would have to disagree. I had blistered up into a lovely example of a second degree burn. So here is my experience share with your family and maybe the next kitchen goof up isn't as painful. What have you used Raspberry for?
