In March I had a realization that assigned reading that typically happens in a lot of book clubs really did not mesh well with my idea of the purpose of the club. I want a resource for Pagans of many walks of life to have a place to share their thoughts and ideas about various titles. This is to be a resource to better understand what you want on your own shelves. Another hurdle was trying to get the same book availability in many different library systems; it just was not working out that way....
Therefore, instead of assigned reading we are restructuring to Topic Reads. For instance in the month of March the topic is Candle Magic.
There are many books out there on Candle Magic. What I want you to do is pick a book, any Candle Magic book (not just a section on candle magic in another publication, but a book dedicated to Candle Magic) and review it. Read it, enjoy it. When we meet again in April we will discuss our picks. Our likes and dislikes about a book. Did it speak to us, were we frustrated by it. Would we recommend it? Why or why not?
I hope this will stimulate more readers than some arbitrary book read assignment.
